Fun, Activity, Imagination and Recreation PLAY
FAIR PLAY is a large group activity which uses recreational games and activities to further enhance and support the High Scope philosophy in the key development skills areas of:
- Approaches to Learning
- Social and Emotional Development
- Physical Development and Health
- Language, Literacy and Communication
- Mathematics
- Creative Arts
- Science and Technology
- Social Studies
FAIR PLAY provides the children physical activity and the opportunities to play in a group, while supporting the social-emotional learning aspect. FAIR PLAY helps children to socialize, take turns, wait for a turn, and compete with good sportsmanship, conflict resolution and other life skills. Children learn through play.
Karen, our FAIR PLAY teacher, also works in the classrooms and on the playground to provide small group and individualized, therapeutic recreation play opportunities for our children.
